Give your child the tools to move through the world with confidence and safety — and give yourself peace of mind, knowing they have skills to stay safe when they’re not with you. Our program is for children ages 7–12 and teens ages 13–16, using the world-renowned IKMF Kids & Junior curriculum adapted specifically for younger bodies, developing minds, and everyday real-life scenarios.

"My children (grades 7, 10 and 12) were nervous about taking these classes, but after just the first class, they were begging me to sign them up for the next set of classes! The teachers are amazing and put the kids at ease right away. They really make teaching fun and they get right into the skills from day one. Although one of my girls missed the first 2 classes, they helped her catch up quickly, and she's on par with everyone else. All my girls have mentioned several times how much they like their instructors! Great classes - highly recommend."

WHY KIDS SHOULD LEARN SELF-DEFENCE
Because Safety Should Be Learned Young
Kids today navigate bullying, social pressures, online and in-person risks, and an increasingly unpredictable world. Giving them strong personal safety skills early doesn’t just protect them now — it builds confidence, boundaries, and decision-making skills that stay with them for life. Here's what they gain from our classes: • Practical, real-world safety skills — awareness, recognizing danger, making smart choices, and safely getting away from threats • Clear boundaries with confident communication — knowing how to say “stop,” stand up for themselves, ask for help, and express their needs respectfully • Confidence in themselves — feeling safer, stronger, and more capable in school, activities, and everyday life • Emotional regulation under pressure — staying calm, thinking clearly, and responding safely • Social skills & teamwork — respect, cooperation, leadership, and learning to work with different personalities • Discipline & focus — structured routines and high-engagement training that help kids stay attentive and consistent • A healthy outlet for energy — movement, activity, and exercises that support both physical and mental well-being • A strong understanding when to use physical skills, and when not to These skills don’t fade — they stay with your child into adulthood, shaping how they navigate school, friendships, work, relationships, and the world around them. And as a parent, you gain peace of mind knowing your child is better prepared, wherever they go.

WHAT THEY LEARN
Real-Life Skills That Stick
Our Junior Krav Maga classes are active, structured, and fast-paced, giving kids the perfect mix of movement, learning, and fun. Every session is designed to keep their attention, burn off energy, and help them learn through hands-on practice — not long lectures or standing still.
With a maximum of 16 students per class, every child gets individualized attention, correction, and encouragement. This keeps training safer, more effective, and more enjoyable — especially for kids who benefit from extra support or structure.
Our Junior classes follow a fast-paced, predictable structure that keeps kids focused, moving, and fully engaged from start to finish. Each session includes:
-
High-energy warm-ups and games to get kids moving and ready to focus
-
Short, practical lessons on awareness, choices, and staying safe
-
Age-appropriate technique training such as blocking, escapes, safe distance, and controlled striking
-
Partner drills with close instructor supervision
-
Scenario-based activities that teach kids what to do in real situations like bullying, unwanted contact, or unsafe encounters
-
A recap to reinforce learning and end every class on a confident note
-
Our approach is designed specifically for younger bodies and developing minds:
-
Short segments to match attention spans
-
Fast rotations and varied drills to keep kids engaged
-
Clear rules and structure to support discipline and focus
-
Positive reinforcement to build confidence, effort, and teamwork
-
Hands-on learning so kids absorb skills by doing, not sitting
This style is especially effective for energetic kids and those with ADD or ADHD, who thrive in movement-based, high-engagement environments.
-
We believe learning self-defence should be fun, empowering, and exciting, not intimidating.
Kids love our classes because we include:-
Games with a purpose — building coordination, awareness, and reactions without feeling like “work”
-
Team challenges and partner drills
-
Clear achievable goals so kids feel successful every class, including progress and rank tests
-
Encouraging instructors who make kids feel seen, supported, and proud of themselves
-

"Dave and Andrea are phenomenal instructors! My 12-year-old son is in his second season and absolutely loves the classes. Their approach is practical and never feels rushed; they prioritize building muscle memory for real-world self-defense, ensuring techniques are repeated until they are thoroughly ingrained. This focus has boosted his confidence tremendously. If you want a professional, engaging environment where skills actually stick, I highly recommend TalonPoint Defense!"

"Andrea and Dave are such amazing instructors! They are patient, their classes have great energy and they really know how to make learning fun while teaching such important skills to the students. My teens are now in their third session with Andrea and Dave, and look forward to their weekly classes. I rarely give the highest star rating because I believe there is always room for improvement - but I truly can't think of anything they could be doing better. Highly recommend!"
