What a class looks like
Our 6 week program is designed to be effective, approachable, and to build your skills and confidence at a steady pace—no matter your fitness level or experience. A 1 hour class has the following format: - Warm-Up – Get your body moving, increase strength and mobility. - Understand Attack – Understand how and why attacks happen. - Technique Training – Learn simple, effective techniques step by step. - Partner Practice – Safely practice with other women in class. - Scenario Drills – Practice applying those skills in fun, challenging drills and games.
What we teach
Our Women’s Self-Defense curriculum (IKMF Stay Away™) goes beyond basic moves—it’s designed to prepare you for real-life risks. Topics include: - Awareness & Prevention – Spot pre-attack indicators, understand intuition and make safer lifestyle choices. - Boundary Setting & De-Escalation – Learn how to use your voice and presence to deter threats. - Physical Defense Skills – Strikes, releases, and defenses designed for women against larger, stronger attackers, for the most common types of attacks women face (see our FAQ below for a list of attacks) - Stress Training – Practice techniques under pressure so they become instinct. - Everyday Scenarios – Defending in common situations (street harassment, grabs, chokes, being followed).
