Helping Those Who are Ready
We partner directly with women and community organizations to ensure EmpowerHer reaches those who truly need it most. Applicants may come to us individually or be referred through trusted non-profit agencies. Each woman is personally connected with our team to make sure the program is the right fit for her current stage of recovery and readiness. Together, we also discuss practical details — like transportation, scheduling, or childcare — so she can participate fully and confidently in every class.

We believe safety is a human right, not a privilege. That’s why TalonPoint contributes to EmpowerHer too — every sponsorship is matched by us. When you give a class, we give a class. Together, we make sure every dollar stretches further and every woman has the chance to stand strong. That means when you sponsor a woman, you are actually sponsoring two!
Why are we running this program?
There are several programs available for Kids and Teens, but almost nothing for women. We are passionate about supporting women who are in or have left domestic/intimate partner violence or human trafficking situations. These women are ones who most need self-defence programs like this yet have the highest barrier to entry, whether it's due to lack of finances, lack of childcare, or lack of courage to attend. We are working on breaking down all these barriers so they can live full, free lives.
